We here in Music Monkey Jungle love Old Pine Community Center for many reasons, including its various programs that encourage community outreach (you know, like us!). That’s why we are celebrating the fact that on July 15 thit’s the one-year anniversary of Old Pine Community Center providing food to the needy via its Sunday Breakfast Program!
This wonderful program began when the Center partnered with the Mayor’s Office of Community Empowerment in order to provide this free meal to the homeless and those of low-income. Every Sunday between 7:30 & 8:20 AM, the Center offers a free clothing station and showers. Afterwards, a sit-down breakfast featuring coffee, tea, juice, and water is served between 8:30 & 9:30 AM for anybody in need. On occasion the Sunday Breakfast Program can be host to special outreach events as well, like public health screenings and more!
The program has achieved a brilliant amount of success as, according to the Community Center’s website, they have provided 10,000 meals, 1,500 articles of clothing, 500 toys, 500 winter coats, and more than 100 care packages for the disadvantaged. That said, Old Pine Community Center is always looking for folks willing to volunteer their time or donate! Caring individuals can email firstname.lastname@example.org, call the Center at 215-627-2493, or fill out the form at www.oldpinecommunitycenter.org/volunteer-sign-up.
Here’s to a successful year of community outreach and many more to come! OOH-OOH-OOH! AAH-AAH-AAH! CHA-CHA-CHA!
